Rescued Animals: No Excuse For Abuse

Elyria, OH - Animal rescue group, Pet Resq. INC, has their hands full of needy animals looking for a good home for the holidays. Fosters are needed for puppies, adult dogs, kittens and cats.

Here are a few:

"Buddy" is an American Staffordshire Terrier Mix, found in Lorain wandering in freezing sleet, obviously beaten and starved to death.

"Chance" is a 1.5 year old Havanes. Chance came from a puppymill and is ACA registered. He lived in 3X3 wire cage and had no interaction with humans except for maybe a mean hand or two. He is a very scared little guy but when you can hold him he puts his head on your shoulder and cuddles right up. He gets along great with dogs, cats and kids. He is walked outside on a leash and likes to be out for about 10 minutes at a time. He loves his treats when coming back into the house. Chance is neutered, heartworm negative, and has had all of his vaccines. He does need maintenance grooming. His coat is the softest thing I have ever felt. It is softer than a bunny's coat!!! Chance needs time to socialize with humans, especially human hands. It seems that he is only scared of hands, not humans in whole. He will take treats from my hand. This is a HUGE step for an animal who is so scared.

"Teddy Ruxpin" is a 9 year old Pomeranian. This adorable little guy was saved from death row at the kill shelter. He is loving, he is sweet, he gets along with everyone and the only time he barks is when he is getting excited to go outside. Teddy is very small, about 6 pounds and has a short coat and very easy to manage. He is neutered, heartworm negative and has had all of his shots.

"Bentley" is a 4 month old Pomeranian/Pekingese. This sweetie was rescued from a puppymill where he would have been doomed for life. He is as boisterous as any other puppy. He is a big bundle of love! He gets along with the other dogs, not sure about cats but given his personality I'm sure he'd be fine. Bentley needs to be neutered in a couple months and will receive all of his vaccinations prior to adoption. He is currently working on potty training. He loves to play outdoors.

"Budders" is a 2 year old Chihuahua rescued from a puppymill where he was sure to die in "the pit" since he was no longer wanted for breeding. He is a 100% lapdog. He is very very sweet and gets along with everyone. Budders has a slight heart murmur that does not require medication but does need to be monitored. He currently has a skin infection being treated with antibiotics. Once that has cleared up he will need to be neutered and receive his vaccines. He is heartworm negative.
