Jay Leno to Design Art for Trumbull County Project

WARREN, Ohio (AP) - Late-night comic and well-known car collector Jay Leno is designing an art piece for the city of Warren's "Spectacle of Speed" charity project.

The "Tonight Show" host has agreed to design a six-by-eight fiberglass statue depicting the "winged lady" Goddess of Speed hood ornament.

The project will feature 31 statues - all designed by artists honoring the ornament that adorned Packard cars from 1926 to 1950.

The pieces will be displayed in the fall at local tourist stops before being auctioned to raise money for the Fine Arts Council of Trumbull County.
