Cell Phones Being Collected For Crossing Guards

NORTH OLMSTED, Ohio – If you have an old cellular phone lying around, you can put it to good use thanks to a new program, 19/43 News reported.

The city of North Olmsted and United Wireless are teaming up to give used cell phones to school crossing guards.

The old cell phones would only have one use -- to call 911 in case of an emergency, like a vehicle accident.

If you would like to donate your old cell phone, you are encouraged to contact your local police department to see if your child's crossing guard might need a phone.
