COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Ohio State quarterback Steve Bellisari (pictured, right) was reinstated as a team captain following his arrest last month on a drunken-driving charge.
Coach Jim Tressel has not said whether Bellisari will play against South Carolina on Jan. 1 in the Outback Bowl at Tampa, Fla.
Bellisari, who was reintroduced as a captain Monday, was arrested Nov. 16 and was suspended for the game against Illinois two days later. He was on the sideline for the Nov. 25 game at Michigan, the last regular-season game of his senior year, but did not play.
Backup Craig Krenzel led the team to a 26-20 victory.
Bellisari, who pleaded no contest, still has a three-day jail term to serve starting Jan. 11 and must take part in a three-day alcohol diversion program.
