Ohio Turnpike tolls rising 14.5 percent for cars

BEREA, Ohio (AP) - Ohio Turnpike tolls are going up.

Today the turnpike commission approved an average 14-point-five percent toll increase for cars and eight percent for trucks.

Effective New Year's Day, a car that currently pays eight-dollars, 95-cents to travel from Indiana to Pennsylvania on the Ohio Turnpike would pay ten-dollars, 25 cents.

The turnpike says the toll hike will allow it to complete the three-lane widening project and to replace aging service plazas at each end of the turnpike.
