Akron Canton and Hopkins Airport Halt Denver Flights Due To Blizzard

Berea, OH - Travelers hoping to get to Denver are out of luck if they are flying out of Hopkins Airport.

The runways at the Denver International Airport are closed due to a blizzard that swept through. The Denver Airport is expected to be closed until 9 p.m. eastern time Thursday evening. There are nine direct flights from Cleveland to Denver every day. Flights include United, Continental, and U.S. Air.

Frontier Airlines cancelled both of Thursday's flights from Akron-Canton Airport to Denver after up to two feet of snow fell Wednesday in Colorado's capital.

According to Hopkins Airport's spokesperson, the airport doesn't have people camping out because people flying on the direct flights know the situation. However, people who are flying to Denver via transfer into Cleveland might be affected.
