2nd Grader Dragged By School Bus

North Royalton, OH - A second grader is dragged by a school bus on Tuesday, just before 4 p.m. at 4901 Royalwood Road, on the last day of school for winter break.

Officials told 19 Action News a second grader got off the bus and the driver closed the door on her book-bag.

The driver went about 250 feet before another motorist noticed the child in trouble and flagged the bus driver down.

The little girl apparently just lifted up her feet and was carried in the air by the bus. She was not injured at all.

The child attends Valley Vista Elementary School.

The incident remains under investigation and police say the driver could be cited for not paying attention. Neither alcohol nor drugs are suspected.

The school bus driver, a 59-year-old man of Broadview Heights, has worked for the school district for two years and has not had any prior incidents.

No names released.
