Retired AK Steel Workers Buy Striker's Children Christmas Gifts

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (AP) - Retired A-K Steel workers are making sure that children of locked out employees will get to open a Christmas present this weekend.

About 25-hundred hourly production and maintenance workers were locked out of A-K's Middletown Works nearly ten months ago. The club for retirees has bought and wrapped presents for more than 500 children of those workers.

No end to the lockout is in sight. After a brief negotiating session yesterday, the company said the differences between the parties had widened.
