Hospitals On Alert For Possible Baby Snatcher

CLEVELAND - Cleveland-area hospitals are keeping an eye out for a possible baby snatcher, 19/43 News reported.

The concern started on Tuesday morning, when Fairview Hospital issued a letter to other local facilities about a woman who was pretending to be pregnant with triplets.

The woman visited Fairview and MetroHealth Medical Center several times, and even joined a multiple-birth support group.

When members of the group found out that her babies had died, however, they called police.

"We want people in the community to know that Fairview is a safe place to deliver," a hospital official said. "We are on the alert, and we have a great security staff."

The hospital has also issued a description of the woman. She is said to be white, approximately 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighing 300 pounds. She is said to have curly dark hair that she often put in a ponytail or bun.

The woman also goes by a number of names, including Dawn Boen, Dawn Vandervelde and Dawn Hoeh.
