Couple Admits They Neglected Daughter

CLEVELAND (AP) - A Cleveland couple whose 2-year-old son was beaten to death in foster care have admitted to neglecting their infant daughter.

Devin Wilder (pictured, right) and his sister, Makenna, were put in foster care in April after authorities discovered Makenna had suffered as many as 18 broken bones.

She has since been diagnosed with a brittle-bone disease that causes them to snap easily.

Three weeks after their foster placement, Devin was beaten to death by his foster mother's 16-year-old granddaughter.

Ellen Crum, who had already been convicted of involuntary manslaughter, was sentenced to two years in juvenile detention earlier in the week.

Devin and Makenna's parents admitted on Wednesday to an administrative complaint that said they weren't meeting Makenna's needs. In return, Cuyahoga County dropped an abuse complaint.

Makenna remains in foster care.
