MAYFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio (AP) - Hillcrest Hospital in suburban Cleveland is building a 72-bed patient tower and doubling the size of its emergency room.
The 163 (m) million dollar expansion and renovation is the biggest investment by the Cleveland Clinic health system in its nine community hospitals.
The 424-bed Hillcrest Hospital is in Mayfield Heights northeast of Cleveland.
Between 1996 and 2006, hospital admissions increased from 15-thousand-601 annually to 20-thousand-661.
Emergency and trauma visits also jumped sharply.
