Stark County Farmer Killed by Cow

ALLIANCE, Ohio (AP) - Authorities say a northeast Ohio farmer has died of head injuries suffered when he was attacked by a cow.

The Stark County coroner's office says 55-year-old Steven Walker fractured his skull Monday after the cow charged and knocked him down in a barn on his farm in Lexington Township, near Alliance.

Walker was pronounced dead yesterday afternoon at Mercy Medical Center in Canton.

Coroner investigator Rick Walters says authorities plan to interview Walkers' eight-year-old and 13-year-old grandsons, who witnessed the attack.

The cow reportedly became agitated as Walker was moving one of her calves.
