Alleged Ohio Child Porn Fugitive Captured

TEXAS - Peter J. Elliott, United States Marshal for the Northern District of Ohio, announces the arrest of major case fugitive Robert Miller.

Robert Miller was arrested on February 7, 2007 at approximately 8:00 am by the Killeen Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Service, Western District of Texas Lone Star Fugitive Task Force in coordination with the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force after leading Deputy U.S. Marshals from Ohio to Texas. Miller submitted to law enforcement and was arrested without incident at the Sunrise Motel in Killeen, Texas.

Robert Miller, 46, was wanted by the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force for allegedly receiving and distributing child pornography via the computer. Deputy U.S. Marshals identified that Miller fled Ohio to Texas just prior to the issuance of the warrant on January 29, 2007. Miller is facing a maximum of 20 years in federal prison for his charges.

Desperate and on the run, Miller, fled to his familiar stomping grounds of Texas. Miller was previously enlisted in the Army and had lived in Killeen, TX and worked at the U.S. Army base in Fort Hood.

At the time of the arrest, Miller was in possession of an alias Ohio Driver's License and an alias Social Security Card. In addition, Miller had a Soldier of Fortune type magazine which detailed how a person could remain hidden from law enforcement and he also had documents to obtain a false birth certificate. Miller was looking to flee the country. Miller was also charged and convicted of identity fraud in 2004 in Cuyahoga County.

U.S. Marshal Peter J. Elliott stated, "The arrest of Robert Miller reinforces the partnerships developed nationwide by the United States Marshals Service and without the assistance of the Killeen Police Department and The United States Marshals Service, Western District of Texas, Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, Robert Miller would still be on the run."
