Ohio Girl Killed by Falling Ice-Covered Tree Limb

BRANCH HILL, Ohio (AP) - A nine-year-old girl was killed by a falling ice-covered tree limb today in a Cincinnati suburb during the winter storm.

Miami Township Fire Chief James Whitworth says the tree branch was a foot wide at the base and more than 20 feet long.

He says Natalie Fossier (FOSS'-ee-ay) was walking her dog in her yard in the township in Clermont County about 2:20 p-m when the branch snapped and took several more branches with it.

A neighbor heard her scream and ran outside, but the girl already had stopped breathing and had no pulse. Neighbors and firefighters administered C-P-R, but she was declared dead at Bethesda North Hospital.

Snow is pounding most of the state and turned to freezing rain by early afternoon in central and southern counties.
