MAPLE HEIGHTS, Ohio - A Solon man died on Friday after his sport utility vehicle hit a utility pole, rolled over twice across a four-lane road and finally collided with a house, 19/43 News reported.
Maple Heights police said that the driver, Cornell Burts, was going much too fast -- approximately 90 mph -- along Lee Road when he lost control near Friend Avenue.
Burts was thrown from the truck and died in the crash.
"It didn't ignite on fire, but antifreeze spilled and there was a lot of smoke, and it was loud," witness George Glassmeyer said.
Police are still trying to determine why Burts was speeding in the first place.
