Michael and Sharen Gravelle Sentenced to Prison

NORWALK, Ohio (AP) - A northern Ohio couple have been sentenced to two years in prison for making some of their eleven adopted children sleep in cages.

A Huron County judge gave Michael and Sharen Gravelle sentences ranging from six months to two years on four felonies and seven misdemeanor charges, but ordered the prison time be served concurrently.

The Gravelles had faced up to five years in prison on each felony count. Their attorneys have said the couple did not abuse their special-needs children and would appeal their convictions.

The judge allowed them to remain free on bond pending the appeal.
