Triggerman Gets 28-Years to Life for Shooting Rampage

Akron, OH - An Akron man accused in a deadly shooting rampage learned his fate Thursday.

Gerald Varner was sentenced to 28-years to life in prison for two shootings last April.

First Varner fatally shot his friend, Thomas Rankin.

He then drove to DaVinci's Pizza and shot the restaurant's co-owner, David Pullizi.

Pullizi survived the shooting.

Varner won't be eligible for parole until the year 2035.
