Browns to select third overall in 2007 NFL draft

Earlier this morning the Cleveland Browns won a coin flip with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the NFL Combine and the Browns will have the third overall selection in the 2007 NFL Draft on April 28.

Cleveland Browns Senior Vice President and General Manager, Phil Savage and Tampa Bay General Manager, Bruce Allen represented each club in the coin toss.  Tampa Bay called heads, and the coin landed tails.

Both teams finished last year with a 4-12 record and identical opponents' winning percentage, which dictates draft position.

Cleveland Browns Previous Third Overall Selections:

2005, WR Braylon Edwards (Michigan)

2001, DT Gerard Warren (Florida)

1982, LB Chip Banks (USC)

1970, QB Mike Phipps (Purdue)
