BEREA, Ohio (AP) - Joe Collins, who joined Cleveland's front office before the Browns' 1999 expansion season, has resigned as the club's player personnel director.
Collins was in charge of the Browns' pro and college scouting departments. He came to Cleveland after spending four years with the San Francisco 49ers, working with Browns president Carmen Policy and football operations director Dwight Clark.
Browns spokesman Todd Stewart said Tuesday that Collins resigned to pursue other opportunities.
