Angelo Vaughn Indicted For Attempted Murder

CLEVELAND- Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Bill Mason announced that Angelo D. Vaughn was
indicted on Attempted Murder, Aggravated Robbery, and Felonious Assault for the beating of Gary Scofinsky.

On January 3, 2007, Angelo D. Vaughn, 41, of Cleveland, attacked Gary Scofinsky, 39, of
Cleveland, in the victim's home on Cleveland's east side. Vaughn, who knew Scofinsky, severely
beat him, ransacked his home, and stole $300. Vaughn hit him in the head with a hammer, leavingblood spatter all over the victim's bedroom. Scofinsky was taken to Metro hospital, where he remains confined with left side paralysis.

Vaughn was arrested on February 28, 2007. Vaughn was indicted on one (1) count of Attempted Murder, a first degree felony; one (1) count of Aggravated Robbery, a first degree felony; and one (1) count of Felonious Assault, a second degree felony. All counts include Repeat Violent Offender and Notice of Prior Conviction specifications.

He faces a maximum sentence of 58 years in prison.
