Convicted Rapist, Murderer Sentenced To Death

CLEVELAND – A three-judge panel on Friday sentenced a man who raped a 17-year-old girl and killed her father, 19/43 News reported.

Kelly Foust, 23, was sentenced to death by lethal injection.

It didn't take long for the panel to make their decision. They cited the brutality of the crime as a big factor.

Last March, Foust beat 54-year-old Jose Coreano to death in his home on West 40th Street in Cleveland. He also raped the victim's daughter, and then set the house on fire, leaving both inside to die.

Coreano's daughter, however, survived and testified against Foust during his criminal trial.

"Why did my father have to pay for that?" the rape victim's sister said. "If it were up to me, he should get the death penalty because that's what he deserves."

Police said that Foust also raped another woman on the steps of a church. They picked him up last St. Patrick's Day for that crime, but the victim was too afraid to press charges.
