Akron, OH - LeBron James today announced the second season of his King's Academy summer basketball camp for boys and girls between the ages of 8 and 18. King's Academy will take place at the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio, from June 20-24, 2007.
LeBron, who recently became the youngest player in NBA history to reach 7,000 career points, will be assisted by an elite coaching staff from across the country. In addition, special guests will appear at the camp. Among the stars who participated at last year's King's Academy included NBA players Dwayne Wade, Chris Paul and Richard Hamilton as well as Cleveland Cavaliers coach Mike Brown and baseball superstar Ken Griffey, Jr.
Youths attending King's Academy will have access to modern, indoor facilities and be instructed in the basic fundamentals of basketball, including shooting, passing and dribbling. The camp will offer both overnight and day camper sessions.
"I am very excited for the second season of King's Academy summer camp," said LeBron. "It's always great hanging out with kids and teaching them about basketball and the importance of teamwork both on and off the court. We have a lot of fun activities planned, and I'm sure that everyone who participates will have a great time."
