ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) - The Texas Rangers reportedly have signed former Cleveland Indians pitcher Steve Woodard (pictured, right) to a minor-league deal.
The Dallas Morning News reports that the Woodard deal has been made.
The 26-year-old right-hander was 3-3 in 29 appearances with Cleveland last season. He was 2-3 with an ERA of 6.34 in 10 starts.
The six-foot-four, 217-pound hurler is the third member of last year's Indians pitching staff that new Rangers general manager John Hart has signed this off-season.
Hart was the Cleveland GM last year. Hart previously signed right-handed starter Dave Burba and left-handed reliever John Rocker as free agents.
