Lake Erie Monsters To Host Open House Select-a-Seat Event

Cleveland, OH - The Lake Erie Monsters, Cleveland's new American Hockey League franchise that will begin play in the 2007-08 season, will host an open house Select-a-Seat event on Wednesday, March 14th from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Quicken Loans Arena.

Fans are invited to come down to The Q to hand-pick the best available seat locations for the Monsters' inaugural season, which begins in September.

The ice will be down and The Q will be configured for hockey so that fans have the opportunity to view all sightlines from every available seating area. A sampling of seats throughout the arena will be tagged to identify availability.  Upon selecting desired seat locations, a $50 down payment per seat will be required.

Some Lake Erie Monster season ticket holder benefits will include:

  • Discounted pricing off face value (applies to most seating areas)
  • Flexible payment plans
  • Admission to a "Meet The Team" party
  • 20% discount of Monster merchandise at the Team Shop
  • Renewal and relocation rights along with ticket donation and exchange programs
  • Cavaliers Playoff Pack Priority
  • The Q Event Hotline

"Fans can look forward to professional hockey returning to Cleveland in the most exciting and energy-packed game atmosphere in the AHL," said Monsters President Kerry Bubolz.  "The Q will be dangerous territory for all teams that face-off against the Monsters, and the home crowd will make sure the water is not safe for visitors.  It's going to be a blast."

Monsters full season ticket plans start at just $210 and 15-game partial ticket plans are also on sale now. For information, call 216-420-0000 or 1-866-99-PUCKS or visit

Dan Gilbert, majority owner of both the Monsters and the Cleveland Cavaliers and chairman and founder of Quicken Loans, purchased the hockey team, which was formerly the Utah Grizzlies in May of 2006.  In December 2006, the Monsters became the primary affiliate of one of the NHL's most successful franchises, the Colorado Avalanche. In January 2007, the franchise's name was unveiled along with the Lake Erie Monsters logo and jersey.
