Shaker Heights: Cop Shoots Teen in Shoulder

Shaker Heights, OH - Breaking news out of Shaker Heights this afternoon.

19 Action News has learned that a police officer has shot a 15- year-old boy in the shoulder during a traffic stop.

This, after a Shaker Heights police officer saw a car that had been reportedly stolen with three juveniles inside. The 15-year-old boy shot was taken to University Hospital, the other two juveniles, a 17-year-old and a 16-year-old,  were arrested.

The cop stopped the car in the 13700 block of Fairhill Road in Shaker before 1PM this afternoon.

A shot was fired shortly after.

No word on what prompted the officer to fire his gun.

The officer, a 25 year veteran who shot the boy, has been placed on paid administrative leave, pending an investigation into the shooting.
