ROCKY RIVER, Ohio (AP) - Democrat Tim Hagan (pictured, right) has chosen a veteran Democratic strategist to lead his campaign for governor.
Hagan announced Tuesday that Gerald Austin will be his campaign's senior consultant. Austin, who has worked for Democratic candidates for 30 years, most recently was a consultant to Jane Campbell, who was elected mayor of Cleveland last November.
Former Congressman Edward Feighan of Cleveland will be Hagan's campaign chairman. Others on the team include Karyn Gillette, finance director; Austin Jenkins, campaign spokesman; and Becky Cholewka, campaign coordinator.
Hagan, a former Cuyahoga County commissioner, is the only Democrat so far to challenge Gov. Bob Taft, a Republican who is seeking a second term.
