Residents Evacuated After Gas Leak In Neighborhood

CLEVELAND – Approximately 50 people were evacuated from their homes and sent into the cold after a gas leak in their eastside Cleveland neighborhood, 19/43 News' Alicia Booth reported.

It happened just after 10 a.m. Thursday at East 110th Street and Woodland Avenue.

Bad information is being blamed for causing the leak that happened when workers for the Abel Fence Company accidentally ruptured a gas line while putting in a new fence around the Woodhill Home Estates.

After approximately seven hours, the leak was fixed and everyone was allowed to return home and turn on their heat again.
