Harrisville Twp, OH - A motorcycle accident ended in a fatality Sunday evening. Lifeflight was sent to the scene but a male motorcylist was killed instantly. One other person was transported to a local hospital.
The accident occurred at Lafayette Road (US 42) and Pawnee Road just outside of Lodi.
Medina County Sheriffs and State Highway Patrol responded to the accident. The intersection was closed for rescue teams Sunday.
A gold colored vehicle driven by a female was traveling south bound on Lafayette Road while the male motorcyclist was traveling north bound. The vehicle attempted to make a left hand turn onto Pawnee Road when it went into the path of the motorcycle, striking the front right fender and throwing the male approximately one hundred feet from the motorcycle.
The motorcycle driver died instantly on scene.
The female was only passenger in the gold vehicle and suffered minor injuries resulting in EMS transporting her to Lodi Community General Hospital. The identification of the motorcyclist is being withheld pending notification of family members.
Currently the Medina post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is interviewing the female victim at the hospital.
