Home Invasion Bandits Steal Man's Gambling Winnings

AKRON, Ohio - Three masked, gun-toting men burst into two west-side Akron homes over the weekend, 19/43 News' Harry Boomer reported.

One of the homes is on Stoner Street and the other is on Roslyn Street, just blocks away from each other.

Police said that on Saturday at approximately 11 p.m., the three bandits kicked in the side door of a house in the 1100-block of Stoner Street.

About a half-hour later, they hit a house in the 1200-block of Roslyn Street.

The robbers kicked in the front door of the upstairs unit, and stole items from the apartment.

At the first house, they demanded that Michael McDonald's family give them the money that he had recently won gambling.

"They put a gun to (my wife's) head, and they put a gun to my daughter's head," McDonald said.

No one was hurt in either home invasion. Police officials said they believe that both robberies are related.

The suspects remain at large.
