Cleveland, OH - The Cleveland Browns have signed safety Mike Adams to a two-year contract, the club announced today. Adams played in 16 games, including eight starts, last season with the San Francisco 49ers and totaled 67 tackles and also contributed with 12 special teams tackles.
Adams, 5-11 and 195 lbs., has played the last three seasons with San Francisco and has totaled 139 tackles, one sack, five interceptions and six passes defensed in 38 career games, including 18 starts. In 2005, Adams started 10 games and established a career-high with 68 tackles and tied for the team lead with four interceptions.
A native of Paterson, N.J., Adams originally signed with the 49ers as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Delaware.
