Foundations Restrict Building Grants To 'Green' Projects

CLEVELAND (AP) - Two major charitable foundations in Cleveland
say they're going green with the money they provide for
construction projects.

The Cleveland Foundation and the Gund Foundation announced
yesterday that from now on, non-profit groups seeking money for new
buildings or for renovation work will have to show that their
projects are environmentally friendly. That means they must be
energy-efficient, use recycled materials and meet other similar

Gund Foundation executive director David Abbott says it's the
right thing to do. He says the two foundations wanted to make a
statement amid the growing concern about global climate change.
