Fallen Flight Nurse Remembered As Caregiver, Mother

MOUNT CARMEL, Ohio - Nurse Kelly Conti lost her life trying to save another, and on Thursday, she was remembered, 19/43 News reported.

Conti, 38, was one of two people to die in the crash of a MedEvac helicopter last week. She was a member of the crew on board University Hospitals' chopper when it crashed into the building shortly after taking off from the helipad.

Conti and pilot Bill Spence both lost their lives in the crash. Only one person -- 29-year-old medic Joe Paolletta -- was the only survivor.

Friends and family packed Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Wickliffe on Thursday morning to remember the mother of two.

Conti leaves behind two children -- an 8-year-old daughter and a 5-year-old son. An educational fund has been set up for her children, and you can make a donation at any Key Bank branch.
