Painesville Crime May Become A Homicide

PAINESVILLE, Ohio (AP) - An unsolved beating could turn into a homicide if authorities in northeast Ohio determine a man's injuries caused his death almost nine years later.

Seventy-one-year-old William Hooker died Sunday at the Lake Med Nursing Home in Painesville. Lake County Sheriff's Captain Lonnie Sparkman says if the injuries he suffered in the attack caused his death the case will become a homicide.

Lake County Coroner Salvatore Rizzo will issue a ruling once an autopsy is complete.
