Two People Die In Diving Accident

GILBOA, Ohio (AP) - Authorities in northwest Ohio say two people died while diving in a stone quarry.

Forty-three-year-old Sherry Eads of Brookville and 21-year-old Daniel Frendenberg of Union were pronounced dead yesterday at a Lima hospital. Authorities say they may have experienced equipment problems while diving in Gilboa (gil-BOH'-uh) Quarry.

A third diver -- 21-year-old Jason Balsbough of Clayton -- is listed in fair condition.

Putnam County Sheriff James Beutler says no foul play is suspected but the case remains under investigation.

Beutler says the quarry is a popular spot for divers, with many coming from Michigan, Indiana and Canada.
