Blue Angels Pilot Remembered In Dayton

DAYTON, Ohio (AP) - The Navy Blue Angels pilot killed in a crash in South Carolina over the weekend made an impression when he flew in Dayton last year.

Lieutenant Commander Kevin Davis flew a Blue Angel jet for last summer's Vectren Dayton Air Show. Dayton Daily News photographer Ty Greenlees rode along and calls Davis the kind of person you'd want at the controls: professional, calm, and explaining every maneuver.

The 32-year-old Davis was in his second year with the Blue Angels when he died Saturday at an air show in Beaufort (BYOO'-furt), South Carolina. Investigators are still examining the wreckage, and the Navy says it could be at least three weeks before it announces what caused Davis's plane to crash.
