Two Democrats Appointed to Cuyahoga County BOE

CLEVELAND (AP) - Two lawyers were appointed today to fill vacant Democratic positions on the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections.

Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner picked Inajo (IHN'-uh-jo) Davis Chappell and Eben "Sandy" McNair from a group of six finalists. Davis Chaoppell is a partner with Ulmer and Berne law firm. McNair is a partner with Schwarzwald and McNair. The firms both have offices in Cleveland.

Brunner sought the resignations of all four board members in Cuyahoga County due to persistent problems with elections in the state's most populous county.

Former Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court Judge Jeff Hastings, a Republican, was the first board member appointed last week. Another appointment is yet to be made.
