4-Year-Old Calmly Calls 911 About Unconscious Mother

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - A Franklin County 911 operator said she couldn't believe that she was talking to a 4-year-old child, who calmly told her "mommy's not waking up."

Stephanie Newman listened as little Ashley Lee spoke in a clear, calm voice, as if she were much older and it wasn't a medical emergency.

Newman said that Ashley -- calling from her rural home west of Columbus -- told her that her mother was a diabetic and her sugar was low.

Ashley's mother, Christine Nadolski, also is two month's pregnant. Her father, Edward Lee, is deaf and couldn't make the 911 call.

Newman and Ashley's parents are calling the 4-year-old girl a hero.

The 37-year-old Nadolski was taken to Doctors Hospital West, where she was listed in good condition.
