CLEVELAND (AP) - The Cleveland Rockers, who had the Eastern Conference's best record during the regular season in 2001, will open their 2002 WNBA season at home on June 1 against the Houston Comets.
Three of the Rockers' 16 games at Gund Arena this season will be nationally televised, including a July 20 matchup against the defending league champion Los Angeles Sparks on NBC.
The Rockers were the East's top seed in last year's playoffs, but were eliminated by the Charlotte Sting in three games.
Charlotte will make its only visit to Cleveland on July 24.
After playing Houston and Detroit at home, the Rockers will play their first road game in Orlando on June 8.
