Pedestrian Hit By Car, Killed In Windham Township

Windham Twp, OH - The Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred on Saturday May 5th at approximately 2:18 a.m.  The crash occurred on the OhioTturnpike at milepost 203 in Windham Township in Portage County.

A 1995 lincoln town car was traveling west on IR 80, (ohio turnpike), in a two lane construction zone when it struck a pedestrian walking on the roadway.

The driver of the lincoln town car, 78 year old John Makosky from Campbell, OH sustained minor injuries.  He was treated on the scene.  The right front passenger, 19 year old Sara Makosky, and the right rear passenger, 16 year old Katherine McCue, also from Warren, OH were not injured.  Seat belts were in use.

The pedestrian, 25 year old Jerry Floyd Jr, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Portage County Coroner's investigator.
