The Cleveland Browns have signed RB Jerome Jackson, OL Cliff Louis and LB Kevin Sears as undrafted rookie free agents and have also waived OL Rick Drushal, LB Funtaine Hunter and RB Tyrone Moss, the club announced today.
Jackson, 5-11 and 206 lbs., was a four-year letterman at the University of Michigan and appeared in 35 games and totaled 143 carries for 718 yards and eight touchdowns.
Louis, 6-8 and 300 lbs., was a two-year starter at offensive tackle at Morgan State. Louis played for a team that ranked among the top offenses in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) during his junior year and was selected tot eh All-MEAC second-team as a senior in 2006.
Sears, 6-5 and 237 lbs., played in seven games last season at Auburn and totaled 13 tackles.
The NFL Europa announced today that Cleveland Browns return specialist Chris Barclay was named as Special Teams Player of the Week. Barclay sparked the Berlin Thunder's 31-28 win over the Cologne Centurions as he returned five kickoff returns for 180 yards and scored on a 99-yard return to spark the Thunder's 21-point comeback.
