Univ. of Akron Ousts Two Ex-Cons from Dorms

AKRON, Ohio (AP) - The University of Akron is still working to remove ex-convicts from campus dormitories.

Four ex-cons have been told they won't be allowed back as dormitory residents next fall.

Ex-felons in dormitories became an issue last year. The university acknowledged it routinely paired middle-aged ex-cons with law-abiding students, some in their teens.

The university now requires dormitory applicants to disclose any criminal record.
