Chemical Leak at I-77 Rest Stop

UPDATE: Bath Township, OH - Haz-Mat responded to the scene of a chemical spill at the rest stop on I-77 late Tuesday morning.

Officials tell 19 Action News the rest stop caretaker was cleaning outside when she discovered a 55-gallon drum leaking a semi-hazardous chemical called Cationic Polymer.

Cationic Polymer is used in water treatment plants.

Officials believe the drum may have fallen off a truck - but aren't sure and are investigating how the drum got there.
