Man Charged With Using Hidden Camera To Watch Girls' Showers

LORAIN, Ohio (AP) - Prosecutors in northeast Ohio accuse a Lorain man of hiding a camera in a smoke detector to spy on two teenage girls in his shower.

Steven Dittmer has been indicted on eleven charges, including illegal use of a minor in nudity oriented material.

Prosecutors say the 24-year-old Dittmer told authorities he meant to install the camera in his living room in an attempt to catch his wife having an affair. Police seized his computer, but Dittmer claims he didn't watch any of the footage of his teenage relative and her friend.

Dittmer's wife called police after both of the girls saw a blinking light while taking separate showers. A police report says the girls removed the smoke detector and found the camera.
