Police Investigating 5th Possible Sexual Assault At Psychiatric Ward

CLEVELAND, Ohio (AP) - Authorities say police are investigating the possible sexual assault of a fifth psychiatric patient at the University Hospitals of Cleveland.

The investigation comes a week after the state placed University Hospitals' in-patient psychiatric unit on probation.

That decision followed allegations of two rapes and two sexual assaults against patients.

Relatives of a 71-year-old female patient contacted police Saturday after reading a news account of charges against Herman Brown -- a 40-year-old Cleveland man who worked in the ward.

The woman's son told The Plain Dealer newspaper that his mother complained several times about a man who inappropriately touched her at the hospital.
