Browns Get New Strength Coach From College Ranks

CLEVELAND (AP) - The Cleveland Browns hired Buddy Morris as their strength and conditioning coach Tuesday.

Morris held the same position in the college ranks at Pittsburgh for 15 years, where he worked with future NFL star Dan Marino and 13 other first-round draft picks.

"Buddy Morris is a high energy motivator, has tremendous people skills and is a strong family man," coach Butch Davis said.

Previous strength coach Tim Jorgensen left the Browns after three seasons earlier this month.

Davis said Jorgensen and the Browns mutually agreed to part ways.

The Browns led the NFL with 16 players on the injured list last season, and Davis has talked about wanting his team to be bigger and stronger.
