Rescued 5-Year-Old Boy Loses His Fight For Life

CLEVELAND – A 5-year-old boy that was rescued from a burning east-side house on Monday along with his father lost his fight for life early Tuesday evening, 19/43 News reported.

Chris Hubbard died after being overcome by smoke on Monday when he and his father were trapped inside their burning home.

NewsHawk19 was high above the scene on Monday as firefighters staged the daring rescue as smoke poured out of the Stockbridge Avenue home in Cleveland.

Firefighters were able to pull Chris from the second floor and then had him transported to MetroHealth Medical Center, where he had been in critical condition.

Chris' father was treated at the scene, but escaped relatively unharmed.
