Cleveland's Adult District Plan

CLEVELAND (AP) - Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson is proposing an adult-entertainment district for the city.

Developer Scott Wolstein is negotiating with property owners to buy land in a Cleveland area known as the Flats -- including the building that houses the Hustler Club.

The city sees his project as vital to upgrade an area considered blighted.

Jackson's chief of staff said yesterday the proposal is necessary to move the 230 (m) million dollar housing and retail project forward.

Two other strip clubs -- in addition to the Hustler Club -- would relocate to the district under the proposal.
