Former LTV, CSC Workers Can Get Taxes Done For Free

NILES, Ohio - A local accounting firm has announced that former LTV Steel and CSC Ltd. workers in northeast Ohio could get their taxes done for free at any of their offices.

Officials at Liberty Tax Service said that they would complete employees' federal 1040, state and city income tax returns, and that they would electronically file them free of charge.

All three of Liberty's offices are in the Mahoning Valley -- one is in the Eastwood Mall in Niles, another is in the Southern Park Mall in Boardman and the other is in Leavittsburg.

Many LTV workers in Greater Cleveland have lost their jobs in the past couple of years and thousands more have essentially lost their jobs with the shutdown of the company's east-side mill, which remains on hot idle.

Another 200 jobs at LTV's coke plant in Warren are also in serious doubt due to the company's bankruptcy.

In addition to that, approximately 1,375 hourly and salary steelworkers lost their jobs last year when CSC closed its Trumbull County plant due to its Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection filing.
