Indians' Westbrook Out Until At Least Mid-May

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. (AP) - Cleveland Indians pitcher Jake Westbrook will have surgery on his right elbow and be out until at least mid-May.

Westbrook has bone spurs and possible nerve damage. He was 4-4 with a 5.85 ERA average in 23 games last season.

Indians manager Charlie Manuel said Westbrook's surgery was expected to take place in the next couple of weeks.
