Life Jackets Required at Cedar Point

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) - The parent company of Cedar Point and Kings Island says it will require children under four feet tall to wear life jackets in all company-owned pools.

The move by Sandusky-based Cedar Fair follows last week's drowning of a four-year-old boy at the Great America park in California.

The rule already was in place at the Ohio parks, which also include Geauga Lake and Wildwater Kingdom. A state law here requires all children under four feet to wear a life vest or pass a swimming test.

The mother of Carlos Flores says she lost sight of the boy when he went into a wave pool at Great America last Thursday. His sister found him unconscious.
